Happy Easter!
The Lord has Risen! Jesus was crucified and resurrected! We believe that Jesus was resurrected and we do not focus so much on his crucifixion so Easter is a very joyful holiday for us.
Last year we were in Utah visiting my family and it was by far the best Easter ever. We had so much fun, and the weather was perfect. In Utah we spent Easter at the park with all the family. It was a twist on the typical Easter that Will and I grew up with. We had always thought church, family, ham dinner, but last year our eyes were opened. This year we wanted another fantastic Easter and I think we made it happen. On Tuesday we realized Easter is almost here and we have nothing planned. I wanted to do an egg hunt for Ariana but her being an only child and doing an egg hunt alone was boring so we decided to call several close friends and plan a bbq at the park and an egg hunt. I thought doing it on Saturday would be nice because it gives families time on Sunday to do their typical Easter stuff.
On Friday we had my brother, his wife and their son over to dye Easter eggs. We should have dyed more eggs but I never remember it being very fun but this year the kit had lots of fun colors, and stickers and then some glitter it was a good way to start the Easter weekend. the kids had fun and Sorien was really getting into doing the eggs.
There was 18 of us at the park, 6 kids, 12 adults. We invited Ariana's friend from dance and her sister and parents, my brother and his wife and my nephew, one of our friends came alone, there's a family friend and the family then they invited their friends and 2 kids.
On Easter we got up and got ready for church. I went a little above and beyond on Ariana's hair. I had been wanting to do a basket weave in her hair for a few years so I finally did it this year. After church we went to the inlaws house and Wills sister set up a candy hunt for Ariana then we drew with the chalk the easter bunny had brought and bbq again. I loved sitting on the back deck relaxing in the sun listening to neighbor kids play outside.
Overall it was a great way to start off Spring Break and Im thinking more Easter picnics are in the future plans if the weather is as nice as it was this weekend. Hope you had a great holiday too :) Heres some pictures so share.
