Friday was Ariana's day. Will went admitted into the hospital on Friday and I REALLY didnt want to tell her knowing it would spoil her very special day I had planned. Will called and talked to her 5 minutes before her Princess appointment and right before she started getting her hair done she was really depressed and we asked her what was wrong and she told her Fairy Godmother In Training that her Daddy is in the hospital and she is really sad. Kathy (her fairy godmother in training) went above and beyond to make her feel extra special. I know they make the girls feel like princesses but you seen a grandmothers instict that kicked in right away. Well- luckly for Ariana- being depressed and having 3 people make sure this is extra special- she got EXTRA spoiled. I had zero intension on getting the photo shoot done after her appointment, I wasnt going to get her shoes, or earrings, or new socks. I intended on going to get her hair done, get her the Bippity Boppity Boutique princess shirt, and get her nails done. Her $80 package turned into $166 package, thank you KayLnn for chipping in to make her feel extra special!!! So I doubled the price. But hey, its her special day, and she was devistated I was determined to do everything to cheer her up. After her Princess makeover we met up with the rest of the family who was eating lunch to show off her makeover. Then we planned a Princess lunch at Ariel's Ghrotto. This lunch was for both KayLynn and Ariana. I wasnt going to do the lunch but talking to KayLynn a week before the trip she asked about it and I said of course we can do that! So we walked over to lunch and had a feast fit for a queen and her royal family :) It was absoluletly delicious.
Before lunch we were hanging out in Disneyland- mainly Toon Town. It started to rain an hour before the appointment. I swear everyone thought oh no rain we are going to melt. Everyone darted for the stores we are like a little bit of rain, no big deal! We rode 4 rides in 45 minutes. We got to take pictures in front of the castle with no one around! After the appointment we hung out in California Adventure for the remaining part of the day. The family ordered a picnic dinner for World of Color tickets so we ate (I didnt I was stuffed), hung out around the picnic area and rode some rides waiting for World of Color to start. I didnt get any good pictures of World of Color because it was raining. This time a huge down pour, at 9pm. I was going to go to the hotel after lunch, and again didnt, because of the timing and was not repared. We were were capris and jackets in the cold rain. We tried to hold the kids and keep them warm and dry by ponchos. We couldnt go anywhere because we were waiting for the show to start and spent $16 on the tickets to the show. I would have enjoyed it much more if it was a better night but it was still a great show. After World of Color part of the group went back to the hotel and I sent Ariana to join them. While the rest of us stayed in Disneyland and played until the park closed. KayLynn and I thought it would be brilliant to take the shuttle to the hotel we could have gotten back to the hotel at 11:30 if we had walked but instead we got back at 11:50, the shuttle was not worth it at all- 2 lessons learned that day- watch the forecast and be prepared, and shuttle was not worth it. Once we got to the hotel we crashed because Saturday was the very early day- we were going to use our Morning Magic Hour and play in the park 1 hour before it opened.
Ariana meeting her Fairy Godmother In Training, and her Fairy Godmother In Training is consoling her after Ariana starts crying because she found out 5 minutes before hand that her Dad is in the Hospital.Day #4
Saturday was 4th day in Disneyland. We got up extra early to be at the park by 8:00 AM. We decided to get a taxi since it was early and we knew we had an extra long day in the park. Luckly for us the sun decided to finally start to shine! We went to the hotel for a 2 hour break but it ended up being a 45 minute break and took a taxi back to the park... More on that adventure in a bit...
So Saturday we get to the park by 7:45 we enter the park and get ready to attack the day. We used our Magic Morning pass to get the big rides knocked out in the morning. We first went straight to Space Mountain. Ariana doesn't care for the dark, and really like roller coasters so she wasn't happy we took her on that ride but she is a great sport and tried everything. If she didn't like it we heard a little bit of complaining. We decided to stay in Tomorrowland so we knocked out SpaceTours, Finding Nemo, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, and meet Marenda (Princess from Brave). We were able to do 6 rides in 1 hour 15 minutes the park opened. Ariana got to meet Rapunzel (Tangled Princess), anad Flynn Ryder (Tangled boyfriend) we waited 15 minutes and she was 2nd in line to meet her. By the time they opened the door to let the kids in to see Rapunzel the line grew to 45 minutes. I was so glad we aited 15 minutes instead of 45! So we headed back to the hotel at 1:00 and arrived there at 1:30. When we arrived my Cousin met us outside by the office and informed us that we had to be back in the park by 3:30 at the lastest. We had planned on going back to the park at 4:00 and getting there at 4:30. She told us that her Mom (my Aunt Renae) had just gotten off the StarTours ride and a cast member asked what she was celebrating (we were all wearing "Im Celebrating" buttons). My Aunt told her that her Mom (My Grandma) is fighting Lung Cancer and this was a place she wanted to go 1 more time so we are all there with her to experience Disneyland as a family 1 more time, and my uncle just found out that he is now cancer free and is on remission so they are celebrating that. The cast member said our story touched her heart so to be back at 1:30 for a special surprise. No one was able to be back at 1:30 so we moved it to 3:30. We met up with 2 cast members who gave each kid a giant glowing balloon, my uncle a gift, my grandma several gifts and they said they had a special surprise for us. We walked to the train in Tomorrowland and found out that the 2 cast members and the conductor of the train will be joining us and we got a once in a lifetime opportunity to ride in the caboose. The Caboose is named "lillybelle" which is Walt Disney's wife Lilly. The caboose is Lilly's gift from Walt Disney and she decorated it. Their kids were raised riding the train and it hold fond memories for Walt Disney's family. Only VIP guests can ride the caboose. The caboose was amazing it is a beautiful older walnut wood and maroon velvet Victorian pieces of furniture and décor. The train has beautiful stained glass windows and beautiful carpeting. Johnny Dep sits in the train often and my Grandma was sitting in the chair he sits in. Chantre had to sit in it and vowed to never wash her jeans again. So we got the chance to ride this special part of the train and learn history behind the Disney family and learn about the train. Truly amazing. After the ride we took pictures with the cast members and was given tickets to ride 2 rides of our choice without lines so the family chose Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters and Finding Nemo because they are handicap assessable for my Grandma. We finished the night off watching Fantasmic and watching fireworks. Mostly everyone went back to the hotel except for myself, my cousin Cleann and her son Nicki and my Aunt Renae. Being there from opening to closing on 2 days I finished off the park and rode everything there was except for ToonTown.
