Last Thursday Will got his license. Can you believe it?!?!?! He is 33 and has never had his license. Will decided to shoot for it about last May-June and studied hard and long for his permit. He passed his permit with only 2 questions wrong! He started driving with friends, family, and people from church until I felt comfortable enough driving with him. Ater about 3- 3 1/2 months of driving he got his license. Its such a serious change for me. I mean for 9 years I have been the driver all appts were according to my schedule and now I get to sit at home and trust that he is driving safe and not going to wreck the car. Yes, thats my serious fear, I dont want to dish out the money for a claim an have insurance go up. We were so lucky that when Will started driving our insurance did not go up. I guess it helps having the same insurance for a long time with no tickets and accidents :)
Now here I am sitting at home watching Thumbalina with Ariana, blogging and watching the 2 dogs play. Such a change for me.
What I am most excited about is now that Will is driving he enjoys road trips. I grew up with my family taking road trips. On any given Saturday we would take a drive, typically to a "local" (about 2 hours west of where we lived) town. I say "local" because living in a rural area thats the 3rd town west from where we lived. We would also often go to Vegas, Reno, or most commonly Salt Lake City. Our SLC trips were common on Saturdays. We would get up early, usually leave by 7 make it to SLC for lunch and hang out with family or at the mall, eat dinner and head home, usually about 8-9pm. We dont do road trips as often here, more so when gas was cheaper. But now that Will has his license he enjoys the road trips more. What Im super super super excited about is planning our California road trip. I have a family reunion in March in Cali, all the family is flying but Will and I decided to extend the trip and drive. The drive is 19 hours 1 way. Coming home we are going to do the Pacific Coast Highway. And, knowing me, I plan... I plan like crazy. Right now Im looking at the hotels, gas prices, and activities to do along the way. I dont know if I am more excited about doing the PCH or doing the family reunion, probably equally excited. Have you taken the Pacific Coast Highway. Where did you stop, what did you do along the way?
