thoughts from the heart

So I was sitting at work today kinda giving myself a small pity party. Thinking that if I had done 1 small thing differently I could have a new job. I could have been looking forward to a new start, a vacation and starting a new job. I keep telling myself things happen for a reason. But still beating myself up every once in a while about this job I just missed out on. Then while driving home I had this "DUH" moment. The moment when I think, wow, no matter how life turns out, and I think I screwed myself over I am still blessed. I got off the freeway with my sirus radio blarring loud, singing to a song that I grew up with, in a nice, affordable, reliable car. I was heading to DQ to get Will and I large blizzards, crossing the street to get us a late night dinner at McDonalds. While sitting in the McDonalds drive thru singing to Sugarland with the radio blarring thinking "Wow, I am blessed". Things may not turn out exactly like planned, but I am blessed. I feel like these are moments of God saying "snap out of it"! When I got home Will and I laid down on our king size bed watching Secret Life on our 42" tv that has been recorded on our DVR. Really, I am lucky. No, Im not trying to brag, but just realized that I have a lot. I may not have a nice house in a tree lined street with a fenced in back yard and be the ideal stay-at-home Mom, but I do have everything I need, and the small luxuries that many people can't have. It seems like I have had a lot of these "DUH" moments, little moments that I realize ok Brooke stop complaining and just be greatful, but sometimes I think these little moments is what I need to keep on track.
So here I am laying in bed, typing about life, realizing that life will go on, and I need to be thankful for what I have. I will get that ideal m-f job, one day, when the time is right. I just need to learn patients.
