Staycation

So my Aunt called me about a month and a half ago and said she would like to bring my Grandma out to visit. I went and scheduled 4 days off so we could hang out with them, but when I got my schedule for June I had only 3 days off. Getting closer to the days they were going to be coming we figured they were not going to be coming but its nice weather outside and I have the time off work lets get planning a mini vacation. Will's first idea was going to Great Wolf Lodge, but decided we wanted to stay on the more affordable end so we thought about Portland or Ocean Shores. After looking into those 2 options we decided it would be just as much as GWL. Then we decided we would take Ariana out of school 1 day but not 3 days so we should just do something closer to home. Ariana and I have gone to Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium before and we really enjoy it there, but when we have gone Will stays at the airport spotting planes so it was time to go as a family. So, I get off work on Tuesday at 12:30 (offical start of vacation) and Will and I run errands then we go to the park and hang out for the evening. We invited my brother and his family, and another family that we are friends with.
We knew we wanted to go to the zoo, swimming, and museum of flight so we set out figuring out those days. Our original idea was the zoo on Friday because we can take Ariana out of school because it is a half day, but then we remembered Ariana has dance on Friday evenings and with it being 2 weeks before recital its not a good idea. We knew we wanted to go to the Museum of Flight on Thursday because it is free family night on the first Thursday of every month. After looking into the swim schedule and our schedule we decided it would be best to take Ariana out of school on Wednesday and go to the zoo. Then on Thursday let Ariana go to school, pick her up and head down to the Museum of Flight. After we got into the car from the zoo I got a text from my boss asking if I could work Friday from 7:30-12:30. Will was upset because they always call on me but we decided that I would go back to work because Ariana is in school until 12:30 so by the time she got off the bus I would be getting home so we really are not interferring with our fun schedule. So after work on Friday we will be going bowling, taking Ariana to dance, then go swimming.
What was super cool was on Tuesday night Will was online and seen a post that my niece and her family are going to the same zoo that we were going to on Wednesday so Will got really excited and talked to her Mom and we hung out at the zoo. After the zoo we decided to go to the beach for an hour and headed to dinner and home.
