Holiday Season

Oh boy, by my majorly delayed blog you can probably tell Ive been a bit busy. But really, Christmas and New Years just got over so who isn't busy?!?!?!?!

December I decided to do a 25 days of Christmas for the Spouse. Will opened up a card every day which had a service, compliment (I did 2 compliments per day), or an activity. We made a gingerbread house, went to WildLights at the Zoo, he had compliments of things that I enjoy that he does, has done, and other stuff, and service like I would clean out the car and detail it, to making his lunch, doing all chores while he got to relax. Will REALLY enjoyed this. While I was doing the 25 days of Christmas for Will I had Ariana do her advent calendar. Each day she had a small activity to do that dealt with Christmas. we colored pictures of baby Jesus, wrote a letter to Santa, looked at Christmas lights, made Santa cookies.

On December 18th we celebrated out 8th anniversary. It was an easy day we went to lunch, shopped, dinner, shopped. It is our typical anniversary.

We LOVE Christmas at our house. We always go big. Ariana doesnt get spoiled much thru the year so we go huge for her birthday and Christmas. Its funny because now that shes older when she wants something she says "Mom for my birthday I want..." or "Mom for Christmas I want...". That used to drive me crazy but I finally got it... we dont buy thru the year and shes knoticed so she asks for things ahead of time- way ahead of time, now if only I can remember those things she asks for months and months in advance.

Highlights of Christmas are:

Ariana got her 2 Santa gifts she asked for, a hello kitty pillow, and a pink hello kitty scooter. Her main gift from Mommy and Daddy is a new bed set. I am slowly redoing her room into a room that hopefully I wont have to redo until shes at least 15 or so. She got a new cozy blanket, a comforter and shams, sheet and pillowcase set and 2 new pillows.

For Will- About 5 years ago I put together a shadow box of all Will's scout stuff and he earned his Eagle Scout. Not more than a month after I did the shadow box it all came apart so I decided to fix it up again. I had to put it in place so he would notice it was missing and look for it. Luckly that back side was out so he never suspected that it was refinished. After Will went to bed I took it out of the closet and wrapped it. I also got Will a nice pair of sheepskin slippers and a Cabelas hoodie.

For Brooke- About a year ago I put my cell phone on the top of the car and drove off. While going 50 miles an hour the cell phone fell off the roof of the car. With it being a brand new Galaxy S II I pulled over, got out of the car walked around in sinking mud looking for my cell phone. Well to save me from sinking in our ever-so-common Seattle mud (I was litterally a foot deep in the mud) I had to loose my very expensive most favorite shoes. I walked back to the car barefoot while Ariana was bawling. I had to buy myself a cheap pair of Walmart shoes that hurt my ankles so bad. Will so graciously bought me another fantastic pair of expensive shoes. I am NOT a fan of cheap shoes, I swear by the saying "you get what you pay for" and cheap shoes and clothes goes exactly with that motto. So the past 2 weeks I have had very comfortable, no hurting, ankles and feet. I am so happy I have nice shoes for my 7 days of lots of walking in 2 months when we go to Southern California. I also lost my coat a while back on one of our plane trips so it was great to get a triple layer coat.

I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday season!

New Years... we had a small family friendly New Years Eve party with my brother and his family and several friends and their families. We played games and had a lot to eat. Once we watched Seattles fireworks on TV we kicked everyone out and was asleep by 12:30...

So, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all my friends and readers!!! Now lets move on with 2013!!!
